I'm adding a 5th mac to the studio this coming week; the new 8-core Apple Mac Pro. The decision to upgrade from my quad core PowerMac G5 system to the Mac Pro was based upon a number of features, most of which will enable me to serve my clients more quickly and efficiently.
For you computer buffs out there, you may be interested in the following specs of the new system:
- Eight 2.8ghz Intel Xeon Processor cores
- 10gb of 800mhz RAM
- 512mb Nvidia GeForce graphics card
- A 320gb SATA system hard drive
- Two 750gb SATA hard drives paired as a 1.4TB RAID (a redundant/mirrored pair of drives)
- Two 23" Apple Cinema Displays
- 1.25TB worth of external backup drives

A new year and a new phone!

Happy new year to everyone! I just wanted to start off my first post of the year by thanking all of you who've made my successsful and ever growing business possible. The last year brought a whole bunch of fantastic and enjoyable clients to Meeks Digital, and the referrals are flowing in steadily for this year.
The second piece of business that I'd like to share is the arrival of my new Apple iPhone! This is the first blog post I've made from my new, supercool device since its arrival yesterday morning! Let me tell you... What a dream come true. Expect to see plenty more from the iPhone in the coming months, as I'll have it with me 24/7 wherever I go. Thanks to my wonderful, loving girlfriend jasmine who supported my Apple addiction with a Christmas gift certificate towards the iPhone!
Anyway, enough bragging, in off to bed. Check back soon for more news!

Premium Italian Leather Albums!
Posted by Trevor Meeks at 5:11 PM
Tuesday, November 27, 2007
I've aways prided myself in offering the highest quality products to my clients. In doing so, I've had to cut some losses, including cutting back on or eliminating certain products from my lineup because they just weren't working. For those of you who frequently read my blog, I'm sure you were aware that I was going to offer coffee table books. After more research and some bad experiences with the book company, I just couldn't do it anymore. They had their chance, now I've moved on to a MUCH more reliable vendor with much higher quality products!
While these new albums aren't exactly like the coffee table books, I can only see advantages over the products that I previously offered. These new hand-crafted Italian leather albums are certainly a one-of-a-kind work of art that will preserve your memories forever! The albums include flush-mount page spreads, meaning that the pages do not "curl" in toward the center binding like they do on coffee-table books. Instead, the spreads lay perfectly flat when open, allowing for a full spread of images to be printed across the stiff pages. The album exteriors are handmade from ultra-high quality Italian leather, and are available in a variety of colors!
Check out the sample images below to see what YOUR album could be like! These are absolutely gorgeous albums that don't break the bank, and I guarantee that you will be astounded at the high quality of your unique album when you receive it!
More options and pricing info can be found in your private online proofing gallery under the "KISS Albums" product section.

I've been commissioned by Amanda Brumme and Grace Meeks of Architects Nash & Nash to photograph some of their recently finished residential projects. With the wonderful company of Kristy Behrs (Wreckless Photography) I photographed a series of interiors of a home here in Sonoma for Amanda and Grace's website, www.nashandnash.com.

Within the next day or two, you can expect to see my current website come down and something new will go up. Sam and Jesse at 30proof Media are designing the temporary site right now that will keep everyone on their toes for the official new site which should be released sometime this winter. The temporary site will includes a flash-based slide show type view of my most recent work, links to the online ordering section for clients and a new and improved contact form.
Check back soon for an update, but expect the new site to launch by this weekend!

...Than the wind in your face and open air all around you!
I had the opportunity today to fly with a friend of mine that owns an open-cockpit 1929 Fleet Biplane. I photographed the airplane a few months ago and had one of the now-famous images printed on Canvas, but I'd never actually flown in this airplane with the opportunity to take photos at the same time. Well, needless to say today was a beautiful, clear, cool day with puffy cumulus clouds and deep blue skies. Bob and I flew around for about 30 minutes and I snapped some photos... I hope you enjoy them!
Oh, and of course you can click on each image to see a bigger version... they look a lot cooler that way :-)

The studio is back!

After being out of commission for a couple of months due to my busy travel schedule and associated disorganization, I've finally gotten the studio cleaned up and ready to go for the winter season! I'm slowly releasing information about the studio out into the public, also hoping to grab other photographers' attention if they are looking for a rental studio in the North bay. There will be a ton more info available when my new site is released, but for now we do have some nice new images of the studio to share. Enjoy!

I'm excited to be posting Fiona and Nick's engagement slideshow - this couple rocks! I've known the bride-to-be for most of my life, and she and her fiancée nick are two of the most down to earth people you will ever meet! This shows in their images, which were shot at Cornerstone Gardens in Sonoma/Schellville, CA. Their wedding is in October, and I'm looking forward to the awesome scenery that this location will provide for their wedding photos!
View the slideshow below... Enjoy!
